Position Description: Responsible for performing a variety of duties; offers assistance and support to the staff in carrying out the objectives of the educational program in the school; performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desired:

 

General knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation; general knowledge of basic mathematics; Proficient in Microsoft Office; Skill in exercising tact and discretion when communicating with students, parents, teachers, administrators and support staff; Ability to perform oral reading to students individually or in groups; Ability to interact with students to maintain discipline, order and resolve disciplinary problems; Ability to assist students with various physical and intellectual needs; Ability to handle behavioral situations in a calm and effective manner; Ability to maintain accurate records and write reports and logs; Ability to lift boxes of supplies and books; Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
